60 parking lots for heavy-duty vehicles and 150 multilevel parking lots - the beginning of solving congestion problems in the capital
To adopt European experience in parking space development – these are the plans of Moscow authorities for the near future. And the first step in this direction is the construction of about sixty new parking lots for large vehicles on the federal highways in the Moscow region. According to the assurance of Nikolai Pischev, the Chairman of Moscow region government, such parking will be built on all 15 federal highways.
For today it is already planned to build 2-4 parking places for trucks with the number of places not less than hundred cars and 4-6 additional parking places on the circular highway of each highway. Pischev also said that on the territory of parking lots will be functioning hotel complexes, car washes and service stations.
According to Konstantin Timofeev, chairman of Moscomstroyinvest, Moscow authorities are already consulting with foreign experts, and a special delegation is expected to arrive in the capital as early as June. "Now we are just starting a program of garage construction, and in the future we hope to apply in practice the technologies that have long been used in the world", - commented the situation Arthur Abdrakhmanov, first deputy director general of "Directorate of garage construction operation".
As said Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Construction and Urban Planning Policy, this year in the capital will appear more than one hundred and fifty multilevel parking lots with fifty one car places. The development of parking space is one of the measures to combat traffic jams, which is included in the plan proposed by the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in late 2010. In the future, modern parking lots will not only replace spontaneous parking on the streets, but will completely displace it.
