The double corridor system at "Brest – Terespol" will work after "Euro 2012
In connection with the projected increase in the flow of tourists to Ukraine and Poland on the eve of the "Euro 2012" Belarusian State Customs Committee has introduced a system of dual corridors - "red" and "green" in the customs clearance of rail "Brest – Terespol". This is a certain innovation for the State Customs Committee, which, according to the press service of the committee, will accelerate and facilitate the passage of customs procedures by citizens arriving for the European Football Championship.
Before the launch of the system was tested in the test mode, and the results showed that customs operations using this system are 2 times faster. Especially in the case of organized tourist groups, the SCC assures.
"Red" corridor is designed for passing through customs of persons with goods subject to customs declaration. If personal goods that are not subject to mandatory declaration are transported through customs, individuals may use the "green" corridor.
Special electronic boards installed at the entrance to the hall mark the borders of the "red" and "green" corridors, and information about their functioning is promptly displayed on the boards for fans who have just arrived on trains. Special turnstiles will separate passenger flows, said the State Customs Committee.
Representatives of the State Customs Committee intend to continue to use this system of the double corridor - including at the end of "Euro-2012", because the need to pass large groups of people who travel by rail across the border, occurs from time to time. The nearest prospect of using both corridors is the 2014 World Hockey Championship, which will be held in Belarus.
