The number of authorized transshipment places in Belarus was increased for Polish carriers
Polish carriers have increased the number of permitted places for transloading on the territory of Belarus, confirmed the Customs Committee of Belarus. More precisely, the geography of sites for hooking / reloading has been expanded for all those who enter through the checkpoint "Kozlovichi". However, since Polish carriers cannot enter the country through any other crossing, this decision primarily concerns them.
In principle, the number of permissible places for transferring/reloading in the border zone of the Republic of Belarus has been officially increased since July 3, 2023. Now the Customs Committee of the Republic has confirmed that they do work.
Thus, now carriers entering Belarus through the checkpoint "Kozlovichi/Kukuryki" on the Belarusian-Polish border can also go to the temporary storage warehouses at the checkpoints "Bruzgi" and "Berastovitsa" to perform transloading or hooking.
Recall: at the moment, "Kozlovichi/Kukuryki" is the only truck crossing between Poland and Belarus (the other checkpoints, including "Bruzgi" and "Berastovitsa," are not working, while "Brest/Terespol" serves only passenger transport).
However, only European carriers can pass through "Kozlovichi/Kukuryki," while this crossing is the only way for Polish carriers to get into Belarus. They are not allowed to enter Belarus through Latvia or Lithuania.
Thus, the increase in the number of places for transferring/reloading in the area of the checkpoint "Kozlovichi/Kukuryki" concerns primarily Polish transport companies.
However, at the same time from July 3, they can't give their trailers or semi-trailers for further delivery of goods within Belarus, because from that date the movement of trailers and semi-trailers with Polish registration on the territory of the Republic is prohibited.
That is: the new additional places, as well as, in principle, those that were in effect earlier, Polish carriers can now use only for reloading. Moreover, the import of Belarusian trailers and semi-trailers through the Belarusian-Polish border from June 1 is also impossible.
We should also add that the routes of European cargo vehicles from the border to terminals and warehouses for hooking/unloading are strictly regulated. They depend on which checkpoint is used to enter Belarus.
Thus, in the zone of operation of the crossing "Kozlovichi/Kukuryki", in addition to temporary storage warehouses in "Bruzgi" and "Berestovitsa", there are still working for hooking/unloading: "Brest-Beltamozhservice", "Brest-Beltamozhservice-2", "Bruzhy-TLC" and "Berastovitsa-TLC" customs clearance points, temporary storage warehouses of "Brestvneshtrans" JLLC, RUE "Beltamozhservice-3" and JV LLC "Transit" and the waiting area of the electronic queue system in "Berastovitsa".
